A little motivational Monday never hurt anyone, ammirite? How have you, beauties, been? I would love to hear from you in the comment section! As you may well know, I have been focusing on positive body image and lifestyle and today I would like to express my feelings to all you gorgeous souls out there that feel the need to be quiet and maybe even doubt yourselves from time to time.
Why do you think I chose that title for my post today? Shout to the world? Well, why not?
Sometimes, being different results in us feeling like the outcasts. We learn to take the passive route. We learn to not express our opinions, in case they offend somebody. We, sometimes, are taught to feel like we deserve to be a lesser category. And why is that? It starts with me. With us. With you.
Because you might point the finger and forget at the end of it, is another human being with its own experiences and burdens. Because you might think it’s only a joke! But also, because you don’t stand up for yourself. Because someone, somewhere told you that you are too thick, too skinny, too fat, too smart, too ugly, you have too much acne, too many stretch marks, too tall, you put too much make up on, you are not lady like enough, you chose to raise your kids and work at the same time, you chose to be a stay at home mom. Stop letting them take you down. Body shaming is a reality and surprise!!! If they can put you in the corner, they win. So, don’t let them. Don’t allow them to hurt you, maim you or discourage you. How, you may ask? Shout to the world you are beautiful. Shout to the world you don’t care about their opinions. You are blessed to be exactly the way you are. If you believe that you need a change, do it for you. Not for anyone else, but for you. You deserve it. Be active and educate them. Haters are just going to continue and you will rise above them. You are better than this. You are strong and you should feel confident. Love your body and soul. Feel proud of the person you are. Don’t stop standing up for yourself and don’t stop talking about it. Put it out there. Make it known. If you have caused any grief, don’t be afraid to apologize. There is way too much negativity and it is in our hands to finally free ourselves from all of it. There are multiple sides to a story, but it all comes down to being a decent human being.
And now that I have it with the help of this adorable doggie……..
I’m looking for 3 BLOGGERS to interview!!!!
The questions will be about beauty, body image lifestyle and fashion. Your blog will be featured on my blog post right after your name is mentioned (link to it)! I would, also, love to see blogs close to my niche!! Please comment with your blog in the comment section!!!! You know it’s gonna be fun and it helps so much to stay connected! I cannot wait to hear from you!!
I would like to make an announcement, to all my beautiful souls.
I had made a conscious decision, for personal reasons, this past April, to take a break from blogging, in order to read and learn more about myself. It was a difficult one, but now I know what I need to do, what my goals are and that gave me a refreshing purpose! I want to thank you, my readers and followers, for your faith in me, your willingness to keep following me and all the loving and positive messages I have received. I want you to know they haven’t gotten unnoticed and they are more appreciated that you could imagine! And now, about 🙌 The blog🙌 . The blog is up and running and very soon I will be posting new ones! The main focus on @kalliaseverydaytalks 💎 will be beauty in everyday life and making a point for equal beauty regardless the various characteristics, body types etc. We are all gorgeous and radiant and if I even put a little sparkle back in your life, through my articles, I have fulfilled my wish. Stay classy and keep in touch!! Love to all,
Okay, I know. Shocking title. You are probably thinking ” Pfft! What is she talking about? We love our clothes. We are not going to downsize!”. Let me say really quick, this is not that kind of a post. Difficult times call for a more up – front approach; So, today, we are speaking truths, kicking our insecurities to the curb and showering ourselves with a freeing happiness. In a way, we are throwing away the clothes or layers, for a better word, and getting deeper in the concept of acceptance and the psychological need of belongingness. (Right in the feels, much?)
Someone reminded me today that no matter who we think we are, there is more to it than what the eye can see. Maybe, even more than we realize. But, we can only reach our full potential, if we embrace the person we have become. On my last post Own your body, I shared with you a small exercise that you could do in front of your mirror and would be able to help with seeing yourself as the majestic being you are. Yes, you are! Stop arguing! I am overwhelmed and so grateful for all the response I have gotten. This is the true testament of the reason I am writing and why I chose this particular subject. It is a great journey so far and I cannot wait to see where it is headed. Most importantly, I am at my happy place, because it has even the slightest (good) impact in your lives. It’s always baby steps, but look at how grant you feel!
Some might be wondering, what difference does it make? It’s just a post. Who is going to pay attention to it and why? Surprise! Like everything else we have to start from somewhere. It is a work in progress and these things take, unfortunately, time. There is a certain mindset that has hurt the way we perceive our images. Take social media, for instance. Even though it is a place where your voice could be heard in the variety of virtual walls, it has sculpted our opinions into thinking if we are unique, we have to be some sort of an outcast. Why? What is the psychological need for such purpose? We have created those “stands” and labels and decided to place ourselves in them. Embrace yourself. Psychological approach is coming! No, not winter; it’s finally spring thank God, but fellow nerd, thank you for laughing.
It is normal to feel the need to psychologically categorize yourself. The craving for belonging and acceptance by somebody you can relate to, is very common, as well. Abraham Maslow, actually, has the hierarchy of needs (in a pyramid) and it specifically names it as part of the human motivation. Love and the need to be a part of something (a group, a team etc) fall under the category of social needs. Since, humans are sociable beings, you could easily understand its importance. The following picture of the pyramid is from this link, that will take to an article, if you desire to extend your knowledge on the matter. A little Maslow never hurt anyone.
But, what happens when you fall out of place? Let alone when you are getting hurt by the “clique” you thought you belonged to? What happens to the girl that got acne and now her friends are making comments behind her back? Or maybe to the boy that got a few extra pounds and doesn’t feel like himself anymore? Why is it scary to feel that your peers are not going to accept who you are or have become?
It all starts with accepting yourself. Realizing that you are gorgeous inside and out, no matter what. The goal is self actualization. Reaching the point, where you are not just content on how you look or feel, but you are proud. That is when no one’s opinion will cause you grief. Because being yourself is fantastic. Aspire to be free of such closed minds and expand your understanding. You have a purpose in life. Follow it. Wear your scars gracefully, your body and soul fashionably and throw away the clothes. Throw your layers of pain and sadness away. Destroy your fear of looking at yourself in the mirror. Know that you are wrong, if you believe no one sees your beauty; inner and outside. Last, but not least; Change your attitude. Be happy with your image and find what makes you truly peaceful. It might be a long walk, full of rocky roads; but when you get to the top of the mountain you will see the sunshine over the horizon, darling.
I can only hope to become an advocate for a positive body image lifestyle and fashion, in life. Maybe, this is my purpose. Through everything that has happened to me, I see it as a way of accepting me, myself and I. Who else better to love you, if not your own being?!
Body image. You can toy with it, look at yourself in the mirror and start nitpicking. We all are different and to be honest, thank God! Can you imagine how uncomfortable it would be, if we were all the same copy? Boring!! Oh, here is the 20871523452416.09.05 version of the prototype. Yes, I am grateful this world doesn’t exist.
One of the first big problems, when you do not feel comfortable with your own skin, is the subject of the clothes. What to buy, where to buy it from and how to wear it. And even when you finally decide to indulge in some shopping, you hesitate to wear your new skirt, since you do not believe it looks good on you. Well, stop. No, really. Look at me. Take a deep breath and go in front your full bodied mirror. We are in this together, honey. Look at yourself. What do you see? Is it big thighs? Or maybe too long of a torso? Are you seeing big tummy, bad skin or very broad shoulders? If that is the case, you are one of the millions of fabulous humans out there that do not understand their worth. You see, we are not only skin, bones and hair. We are so much more. You have an amazing sum of memories, beautiful body and mind, gorgeous soul and mistakes. Everything you have encountered has given you all the tools, that are unique to you. You should be so proud of how you look, because it is all a matter of a subjective point of view. What you see as a flaw, someone else wishes it was theirs. Own it. Own your body and smile. Today we embrace all the bodies out there and it feels so good. No matter what is bothering you, you are stunning. Inside and out. Struggling with what you see is natural, but that should not be the case. Whoever said that you have to be of a specific size or height to be considered beautiful is wrong. As I said, we are meant to be different. We all have our baggage and parts of ourselves we do not particularly enjoy, but loving yourself takes time. When you get to that final stage of acceptance, though, it is so worth it. The feeling of freedom and happiness is overwhelming and you know you can conquer the world. It will be a rocky road and every day even the smallest win is magnificent. You don’t need anyone to tell you how you feel or bully you on how to perceive how you look. Rely on yourself and take that first step. So, today we are going to try something new. Look in that scary-looking mirror, that has the tendency of making your knees weak, and say :” I AM A WONDERFUL AND BEAUTIFUL PERSON. NO FLAWS ARE ENOUGH TO BRING ME DOWN, BECAUSE THEY SIMPLY DON’T EXIST. I OWN MY BODY AND SOUL AND I AM HAPPY WITH WHAT I SEE”. It will take less than a minute, trust me. Don’t be afraid. I had to talk myself up for years and I finally got to the point where no camera or mirror scares me. I told you, it will get personal, darlings.
I could keep going, but today I will finish with a picture of myself. In the past, I could start pin pointing everything wrong with it. But now, I am happy in my own skin and I even pose for the camera. A little slaying never hurt anyone, am I right?! I decided to wear long black leggings, with cut on the calf boots, big printed shirt with a white cardigan. See, this is where somebody could have said “Kallia, leggings and a bold print? Maybe you should opt for something different”. Well, being the person I am I would smile and politely ask them to use their opinion for something useful. Like educating themselves! I believe you can be anyone you want and wear anything you wish for that matter and still look radiant and absolutely fashionable. Today’s lifestyle has objectified everything and I think it’s time for a change. So, next time you like something, but feel like it wouldn’t match your body figure, think again.
Stay fashionable (and happy with yourself),
How many times have you asked that question? How many times you simply had no answer? Or if you did, was it one you would not want to reply? Did somebody encourage you to lose weight, because you look a little “chunky” lately? Have you heard the phrase “Uh, eat something, you look like a stick”! If that is the case, you have stopped at the right place.
Hello, everybody! It’s been a little while. All this time I have been trying to change specific aspects of this blog and I hope you will adore them! As you know, the category I fall under is lifestyle. It gives me the appropriate freedom to talk about all my favorite subjects, such as fashion and make up! Yes, it is an addiction. At least I am admitting it; Isn’t that the first step? Okay, focus! I love my blog and enjoy writing. I want to start taking gorgeous photos and show you my world. But, that’s just not enough for me.
As a woman with curves, it is very easy to get judged. Now, that does not mean that I let ignorance control my life, but it is just not pleasant. I have heard everything and even though it does not phase me anymore, I am sure, at least once in your life, you have been in a situation that felt you were being judged for who you are, how you look or how you feel. I am here to tell you that you should never apologize. Your true self is radiant and you are beautiful. No matter what people say, do not let them bully you. You are a beautiful and majestic animal and you can have the world wrapped around your finger!
So, the question popped in my head. Why not take a stand? I decided that I will focus on positive body image fashion and lifestyle. There is a great amount of negativity out there and I want to bring some sunshine, darlings! At times, it will be personal. But, I would love to hear your stories. I want to see your side of the stories. Because the only person that can define who you are, is you! Stay tuned, the journey has begun!!

Spring is coming. I repeat… Spring is coming!
The day you leave the house with sunglasses and no binies, gloves and scarves (unless it is a necessary accessory), you have a sudden realization. Everything you went through your winter daily routine; Chapped lips, dry skin, red cheeks and the horrible feeling of turning into an onion, just to go get groceries, is about to be over! Happy dance! Windows are open, heat is off and my favorite part of this season is about to begin. Flowers everywhere! Full bloom and greenery and as always it comes at a cost, for the least fortunate, like myself. Allergy season, darlings! Despite all, I want to motivate you, to go out there and get some pretty flowers for you, your significant other or your mom! See how I put a motivation Monday post, here? Babies, everything can change overnight and nothing is for granted. Positive thinking and a couple smiles never hurt anyone. Here is some inspiration to brighten your day, night and week!
All we can do in life, is to take a deep breath and keep going. Why not do it with some beautiful blossoms in our arms and sunshine in our minds? So, where is your flower, sweetie?
Favorite Scent Reviews.
I love perfumes. I adore everything that will awaken my senses and make me feel like I could conquer the world. I, strongly, believe you could make such a statement with your scent. You walk in a room and without talking, you have established where you stand and who you are. It’s inevitable that you can like more than one. I like diversity and of course, I am in the “more perfumes, the better” club! We meet every Sunday, behind Sephora, at 4 pm EST. These are some of my favorites for this time of the year. As you can see, they have been put in a lot of use and they are always with me, close to my heart and behind my ear. No, not all at once!
1. Marc Jacobs, Decadence:
My new obsession, plain and simple! Royal and glamorous, I feel so empowered while wearing this fragrance! Firstly, let’s talk about the appearance. The deep green glass bottle, that resembles gorgeous purses with the black tassel and the gold chain, is enough to hold an honorary place on my vanity! The smell is truly intriguing! Classy paired with jasmine, rose and papyrus woods is a statement for sure!
2. Estee Lauder, Sensuous
Feminine and sweet, Sensuous has a dear place in my heart! Sandalwood, pepper and amber are some of the aromas that have made this miracle! The strong and sweet smell of honey brings out all kinds of cuteness! Definitely date appropriate and seductive!
3. Christian Dior, J’adore.
I do not remember of a time that J’adore was not a part of me. I believe it is a fresh, clean smell and it brings out my happy side! Flowers are the basis for this and it stays on forever! Great for everyday wear! Perfect for a woman, who respects herself and loves to be in control!
4. Roberto Cavalli, Body Cream and Soap.
For the days I am looking for a more subtle smell, I use this amazing combination. It was a gift and I am in love with it. Pepper and smoky undertones are the secret ingredients to this successful duo!
5. Victoria’s Secret, Scandalous
Scandalous, for sure! Fascinating fragrance with fruity and floral undertones. A sexy perfume, that will make your nights interesting! It is perfect for winter and I love its depth. Praline, sweet raspberry and peony are the main ingredients to this wonderful scent! Carved glass, in purple and black, it is gorgeous to say the least! The satin bow and the atomizer bring out memories of a past time. I, personally, have the candle for it and it is placed on my desk!
