Shout to the world

A little motivational Monday never hurt anyone, ammirite? How have you, beauties, been? I would love to hear from you in the comment section! As you may well know, I have been focusing on positive body image and lifestyle and today I would like to express my feelings to all you gorgeous souls out there that feel the need to be quiet and maybe even doubt yourselves from time to time.

Why do you think I chose that title for my post today? Shout to the world? Well, why not?

Sometimes, being different results in us feeling like the outcasts. We learn to take the passive route. We learn to not express our opinions, in case they offend somebody. We, sometimes, are taught to feel like we deserve to be a lesser category. And why is that? It starts with me. With us. With you.

Because you might point the finger and forget at the end of it, is another human being with its own experiences and burdens. Because you might think it’s only a joke! But also, because you don’t stand up for yourself. Because someone, somewhere told you that you are too thick, too skinny, too fat, too smart, too ugly, you have too much acne, too many stretch marks, too tall,  you put too much make up on, you are not lady like enough, you chose to raise your kids and work at the same time, you chose to be a stay at home mom. Stop letting them take you down. Body shaming is a reality and surprise!!! If they can put you in the corner, they win. So, don’t let them. Don’t allow them to hurt you, maim you or discourage you. How, you may ask? Shout to the world you are beautiful. Shout to the world you don’t care about their opinions. You are blessed to be exactly the way you are. If you believe that you need a change, do it for you. Not for anyone else, but for you. You deserve it. Be active and educate them. Haters are just going to continue and you will rise above them. You are better than this. You are strong and you should feel confident. Love your body and soul. Feel proud of the person you are. Don’t stop standing up for yourself and don’t stop talking about it. Put it out there. Make it known. If you have caused any grief, don’t be afraid to apologize. There is way too much negativity and it is in our hands to finally free ourselves from all of it. There are multiple sides to a story, but it all comes down to being a decent human being.

Stay classy,

Kallia Manika

  1. You are so right, we are the change. If we don’t do all of the things we mentioned for ourselves nobody will. The fact that the media has created the idea of what women should be and we accepted it instead of standing up. Great post
